A Beautiful Town of Friendly People

It is a small parish located in the central highlands of Ecuador. Its territory ranges from 600 to 4,200 meters above sea level. 30 rural communities are part of the parish and it has approximately 8,000 inhabitants, mostly indigenous.

A Beautiful Place To Visit

Within the territory of Salinas de Guaranda there are two climatic zones: moorland and subtropical (in areas ranging from 800 to 4,800 meters above sea level), which contributes to the existence of a great variety of flora and fauna. It is a region with an impressive natural beauty and variety of landscapes. The area has been declared a Protected Area of flora and fauna because it is home to more than 500 species of birds, 300 mammals, 100 reptiles and amphibians, 40% of which are endemic to the plateau.

A Small Town A Big Heart

Between the subtropics and the moorland, a community development process is taking place, the fundamental bases of which are: the people who make it up, the peasant organizations and the principles that govern them.
