EL SALINERITO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION COOPERATIVE

Associative Work of the Peasants of Salinas

Our success is based on social responsibility, which goes beyond a single project or initiative: it is about giving back to society by managing the resources generated by initiatives to provide accessible financial solutions for community members.

history of the Organization

In 1973, the salt workers organized the first community cheese factory to make fresh cheese, replicating what the boss did on the farm, but transportation and market problems led to the decision to close the plant in 1976, while they looked for ways to overcome the difficulties.

It was in 1973 when the dream of giving value to the raw materials and associated work of the farmers in Salinas de Guaranda to produce fresh cheese began.

We work for a Productive Community

As part of its contribution to the development of the Salinas de Guaranda community, the El Salinerito Agricultural Production Cooperative has managed resources that have been used, among other things, for the construction of a cheese processing plant, for the acquisition of 3 cooperative farms with 445 blocks, the acquisition of a cattle herd of 40 animals, and the promotion of various projects in the mineral water complex.
These initiatives have contributed to the growth of the different communities that make up Salinas de Guaranda.
